Volunteer Bio  

Mr. Dahlstrom holds 6 U.S. Patents, has received numerous engineering, invention, and teaching awards has published over 50 papers and articles, has spoken at multiple conferences and events, and appeared in numerous podcasts and webinars. Mr. Dahlstrom is the founder and CEO of Apellix™, which provides software-driven aerial robotic platforms to paint, coat, clean, and test, in situations where until now, humans have done the work at physical risk to themselves. Bob is a marathon runner who knows the value of discipline, training, and persistence.


Before Apellix, he founded a software company in 1998, was a full-time faculty member at Florida State University, worked for the Florida Legislature, and worked in a clean room at AT&T Microelectronics, where he wrote his first computer program in 1986.  Bob has an MBA from Florida State University and a BS from Cal State East Bay. 


Bob is unequivocally adamant that software is “eating the world” and is passionate about designing and creating software-controlled robotic systems that keep people out of harm’s way and save lives.
