NACE NEW ORLEANS MEETING REGISTRATION

NACE New Orleans Section of The Corrosion Society normally meets on the 4th Monday of the month. Check below for all Meetings and other Event details.

Members and Non-members:  $20

Member Retirees, Teachers, and Full-Time Students:  $15

Reservations are requested but are not required. Everyone is Welcome!

To pre-register for NACE New Orleans Luncheons or Dinner Meetings and pay electronically: Select the appropriate registration option just below and click "Add to Cart ".

Options: Normal Registration ($20.00 USD) or Student/Teacher/Retiree Registration ($15.00 USD)

TIME: 11:30 am  Lunch Fellowship/Networking - Speakers at Noon

Join your Friends and Associates at the 7th ANNUAL NACE NEW ORLEANS CORROSION SPEAKERS CONTEST!

Contestants will share a home or work related corrosion experience (3-5 minute presentation with no more than 10 slides). The audience will vote by secret ballot for the best presentations, with cash awards given for First through Third Place:

First Place Award $150; Second Place Award $100; Third Place Award $50

ASM Materials Teachers Camp June 24-28, 2019

ASM MATERIALS CAMP 2019

Attend a one-week training this Summer – FREE!

Learn some exciting, simple, low-cost experiments to engage your students!

 

Where: University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA

When: June 24 - 28, 2019

Who:  High school general science, chemistry, physics, math, and technology teachers; middle school science teachers. (other teachers and home schoolr's welcome to apply)

What: A one-week workshop to show you how to use low cost / no cost, simple labs, and experiments using everyday materials that can be integrated into your existing lesson plans.

Why: To engage and excite young people in science and math!

Program Fees:  There are no program fees or costs to attend the class. The program includes lunch and supplies. Transportation, housing, and other costs are at the individual's expense. The New Orleans Materials Camp does not provide housing.

Credit:  2 graduate credits available for an additional cost of about $250.

Schedule:  This is a full day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) 5-day long workshop.  Some field trips are being planned and may last longer.

Faculty:  Primary faculty are two experienced high school “Master Teachers” who have taught materials science courses for many years and helped develop this innovative approach to hands-on learning of applied science principles.
