The new NACE Standards Development Program is entirely focused on meeting NACE industry needs for new, current, and technically accurate standards. The structure consists of balanced standing committees of dedicated volunteer technical experts.   Committee Voting Members have specific voting and meeting attendance obligations to ensure robust, responsive, and balanced participation from all stakeholder groups. Houston, Texas – February 3, 2020 – The NACE International Board of Directors announces the  unanimously approved slate of members of the new NACE Standards Board. Fellow Technical Activities members,    I am pleased to bring you some excellent news regarding the new NACE Standards Board.   On October 31 st , the NACE International Board of Directors unanimously approved both the new operating manual and the slate of initial members of the newly created NACE Standards Board.    In addition, and perhaps most importantly, they also unanimously approved that the Chair of the NACE Standards Board will have a voting seat on the NACE International Board of Directors, effective March 2020.    This continued support from the NACE International Board continues to demonstrate their commitment to our initiative to strengthen ...

The NACE International Board of Directors has unanimously approved the membership slate of the new NACE Standards Board, and authorized its members to provide oversight and management of NACE International’s standards program. NACE International has launched a new training course which will equip students with the skills required to tackle the widespread problem of corrosion under insulation (CUI). CUI is a severe form of localized, external corrosion that most commonly occurs on insulated carbon and low alloy steel and stainless steel equipment that operate at high temperatures at or below 175 °F. CUI is most prevalent in the chemical/petrochemical, refining, offshore, and marine/maritime industries.
