NACE International is partnering with the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) to exhibit at this year's 50th annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, TX. OTC is held at NRG Park annually and is attended by over 60,000 offshore and maritime industry professionals. The event is sponsored by 13 industry organizations, including SNAME and contains 500,000 square feet of exhibit space with over 2,000 exhibiting companies.
NACE will be exhibiting in the SNAME New Technology Solutions Center Pavilion in Booth #5705. SNAME is comprised of more than 6,000 members serving the maritime and offshore industries around the globe and is focused on the advancement of naval architecture, marine engineering and other marine-related professions. NACE International, an association that serves over 36,000 corrosion professionals around the world, is partnering with SNAME to bring awareness of corrosion-related issues and solutions to OTC attendees.
The global cost of corrosion is estimated to be $2.5 trillion USD, which is equivalent to 3.4% of the global GDP (2013), according to NACE's IMPACT Study. The Study estimates that savings of up to 30% can be realized on the actual costs of corrosion related maintenance (not including lost revenue due to downtime) over the life of an asset.
