NACE International's Research Committee is soliciting research proposals for up to two $20,000 grants. The grant period will be from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, and each grant could be extended for one additional year (see below). The grants are funded by the U.S. Office of Naval Research and NACE International. Each grant is intended to encourage new university researchers to study the corrosion of engineering materials. Grant recipients will be selected at CORROSION 2008, NACE's Annual Conference, to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana (March 16-20, 2008). Proposals should include the following information:
Appendices may be attached, but brevity is encouraged. The grants may be extended for one additional year. The requirements for the extension of a grant are satisfactory progress, submission of a progress report six months after the initiation of the grant, and the submission of a brief renewal proposal six months after the initiation of the grant outlining the next year's research work.
