Technical Committees - Organization and Numbering Details

Reasons for Matrix Structure

  • Matrix organization allows for experts from various industries to give input into consensus documents
  • Assignments for committees clear
    • Task Groups only write documents
    • TEGs do not write documents
  • Easy for newer members to find the type of meeting they want to attend
  • Sharing of technical information in informal ways
  • Number of purely administrative meetings kept to a minimum
  • Committee reporting streamlined
  • Committees restructured and right-sized
  • More coordination between groups
