In Plan B, NACE Headquarters makes most arrangements for courses. The process is as follows:
- The Section contacts
Dora Baladez or
Karla Smith at NACE to propose the desired course and dates.
- HQ ensures that the dates are not in conflict, or too close to, other Section or HQ classes whose attendance could be affected by the proposed event. HQ must also ensure that instructors are available for the dates requested.
- If a conflict or potential conflict does not exist, the proposed event is put on the NACE schedule after the Section signs and returns the Section Education Agreement to NACE.
- If a conflict or potential conflict does exist, HQ will propose another date for the Section.
- After an event is added to the NACE schedule, NACE will handle all meeting/hotel/catering, instructor assignments, registration, and shipping activities and communication with students. NACE also decides if a class must be canceled due to low enrollment.
Note: The final decision to run an event rests with HQ and may encompass considerations such as the location and date of similar classes, and the prospect for filling classes vs. using scarce resources to run half-filled classes.
Section Responsibility
At the very least, Sections must conduct one marketing campaign to help fill a class. NACE HQ will include events in its calendars and perform one e-mail marketing solicitation (if enough contacts exist in the NACE database). The Section's marketing campaign (telephone calls, flyers, e-mails) must be so noted under Plan B of the written agreement.
