NACE Headquarters Responsibilities
- Provide a current list of NACE-approved instructors who may present the courses
- Provide marketing assistance for the event (if appropriate advance notice is given to HQ):
- Listing in the Materials Performance Event Calendar (if space permits)
- Listing in the online Master Calendar
- Listing in the Education Guide
- One broadcast e-mail/fax
- Handle student registrations for all classes in the U.S. Sections dealing in currencies other than the U.S. dollar may choose to collect their own registrations. Click here for class size limits.
- Provide facility/meeting room requirements, which detail audiovisual equipment specifications, recommended meeting room arrangements, and recommended miscellaneous supplies
- Provide use of instructor materials, slides, films, and practice lab equipment customarily used in classes
- Provide a set of student materials for each registrant for the class
- Ship course materials to and from location(s) specified by the Section contact (shipping expense to be paid by Headquarters)
- Grade examinations, issue course completion certificates for participants who successfully complete courses, and issue grade notifications to all participants who take examinations
- NACE Headquarters shall make payment to Section at the rate noted on the Pricing Sheet based on the percentages shown in the Revenue Sharing Plan
- NACE HQ will make payment within 30 days of receiving the final exams
Section Responsibilities
- Select, contact, and use only approved instructors from the list provided by NACE Headquarters. Section will notify Headquarters who the instructor will be 90 days prior to beginning of event.
- Important: Section has sole and complete responsibility for all aspects of arranging for instructors, including travel and lodging arrangements
- Make arrangements to pay instructor fees and expenses directly with instructor(s) selected, and make payment of same within 30 days of course completion (Note: Many instructors request payment to be made at the event).
- Handle all details connected with facilities arrangements, logistics, and any other details necessary for the successful presentation of the courses including provision of all audiovisual equipment and any miscellaneous materials desired by sponsor and not provided by NACE Headquarters, such as masking tape, markers, etc.
- Supply instructor with copy of the hotel Banquet Event Order (BEO) prior to start of class
- Provide refreshments to students during the course; Headquarters recommends coffee and doughnuts in the mornings and sodas and snacks in the afternoons
- Provide any supplementary student materials desired by sponsor and not provided by NACE Headquarters (which may include, without limitation: notepads, name tags, pencils, supplemental reading material.)
- Charge the same course registration fees (in U.S. dollars or equivalent local currency) as are charged by NACE Headquarters. Note: Sections in certain countries with varying economies have some flexibility in pricing - see Flexible Pricing Options.
- Ensure that the instructors have the opportunity to photocopy the ParScore ScanTron exam sheets prior to shipping for security purposes. Assist instructor in shipping all necessary documentation, including exams, registration forms (if available), and student and instructor evaluations back to Headquarters immediately following the course (though it is ultimately the instructors? responsibility).
- Return all unused student materials, and all other materials provided to sponsor by NACE Headquarters. Sponsor agrees to reimburse NACE at cost for replacement of any audiovisual media (slides, videotapes, films, etc.) and/or course equipment (e.g., meters, half-cells, projectors, etc.) lost or damaged.
