| Plan A - Section-Controlled |
Plan A is for Sections that wish to bring courses to their area and can handle most arrangements without assistance from HQ. In Plan A:
- The Section plans the course and handles most arrangements, including instructor fees and expenses.
- The Section accepts the financial risk of poor-performing courses.
- The Section determines when a course is canceled due to projected poor attendance.
- Revenue Sharing - since the Section accepts risk and most responsibility when choosing Plan A, the revenue-sharing plan is greater - see Revenue Sharing for Plan A.

| Plan B - Headquarters-Controlled |
Plan B is for Sections that wish to bring courses to their area for the purpose of generating some Section income but do not have resources necessary to handle most arrangements. In Plan B:
- NACE Headquarters plans the course and handles most arrangements, including instructors.
- NACE Headquarters must approve dates, and will determine when a class is canceled due to attendance projections.
- The revenue-sharing plan and additional revenue options for Plan B are shown in two tables; see Revenue Sharing for Plan B. At a minimum, a Section must demonstrate assistance with course marketing. If the Section also can assist with other arrangements, then revenue may increase.
