Research in Progress

Introduction

The NACE International Research Committee currently organizes and sponsors activities that promote a closer link between research and practical aspects of corrosion mitigation. These activities focus on the following areas: student development, Research in Progress (RIP), and the Research Topical Symposium (RTS). The first two areas have been well recognized over the years, particularly by the research community. They mirror the vital early development of both people and the ideas necessary for advancement of the field of corrosion.

Research in Progress Symposium

The 2008 Research in Progress Symposium is chaired by Douglas Hansen (University of Dayton Research Institute), vice-chaired by Srdjan Nesic (Russ College of Engineering and Technology), and sponsored by the NACE Research Committee. The Research in Progress Symposium provides a forum for the presentation of information and ideas derived from current or recently completed basic research on select topics as well as opportunities for discussion of these presentations. Three sessions will be held and will include invited and contributed presentations. Following the December close of the Call for Papers, additional titles will be posted here.
