NACE Basic Corrosion Course on CD-ROM—Single User

This e-learning version of the NACE Basic Corrosion Course contains the same technical content as the classroom course but is presented in an easy-to-use self study format. Course topics include electrochemistry, environments, engineering materials, forms of corrosion, testing and monitoring techniques, and corrosion control and prevention methods, and are presented in eight text chapters enhanced with color diagrams and photos, four quizzes, two case study exercises, and two video-simulated corrosion experiments. The program was developed in cooperation with Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Leuven, Belgium. Each registered user receives two NACE reference books, Forms of Corrosion—Recognition and Prevention: NACE Handbook 1, Volume 1 and Corrosion and Its Control: An Introduction to the Subject, Second Edition. Self-study students are allowed six months to complete the program, concluded with a proctored final exam taken in person. System Requirements: Windows 95, NT, Windows XP or Vista*; Pentium processor or equivalent with 12 MB of RAM; 300 MB hard disk space (80 MB for minimum installation); video card, CD-ROM drive; Super VGA monitor. *Please note: Not tested or guaranteed to work on Window 7 and will not work on 64 bit operating systems.
