NACE NEW ORLEANS MEETING REGISTRATION

NACE New Orleans Section of The Corrosion Society normally meets on the 4th Monday of the month. Check below for all Meetings and other Event details.

Members and Non-members:  $20

Member Retirees, Teachers, and Full-Time Students:  $15

Reservations are requested but are not required. Everyone is Welcome!

To pre-register for NACE New Orleans Luncheons or Dinner Meetings and pay electronically: Select the appropriate registration option and click "Add to Cart ".

Options: Normal Registration ($20.00 USD) or Student/Teacher/Retiree Registration ($15.00 USD)

Donations:   A donation of $250 or more will recognize the Donor as NACE NOLA Meeting Sponsor. This includes recognition at the Monthly Meeting and in the Monthly Meeting newsletter, allows for distribution of literature on the "Sponsor's Table" at the Monthly Meeting, and listing on the Meeting Sponsor page.

Central Area Conference 2016 in New Orleans

The New Orleans Section is proud to be hosting the 2016 Central Area Conference this coming August 22-24 at the New Orleans Marriott (555 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA, 70130). We are currently accepting abstracts from interested individuals for technical presentations on general Oil and Gas topics, Pipeline and Transportation specific topics, and for talks on Infrastructure concerns. Deadline for submittal has been extended to May 12th, so don't delay!

The members of the New Orleans Section of NACE International, "The Corrosion Society" will honor our Past Chairmen & 25+ year members along with their spouses/guests on the evening of May 23rd, 2016, at 6:30pm at Augie's Restaurant (6005 Jefferson Highway, Suite G, Harahan, LA, 70123; 504-733-3000).

ASM Materials Teachers Camp June 20-24, 2016

ASM MATERIALS CAMP 2016

Attend a one-week training this Summer – FREE!

Learn some exciting, simple, low-cost experiments to engage your students!

 

Where: University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA

When: June 20-24, 2016

Who:  High school general science, chemistry, physics, math, and technology teachers; middle school science teachers.

What: A one-week workshop to show you how to use low cost / no cost, simple labs, and experiments using everyday materials that can be integrated into your existing lesson plans.

Why: To engage and excite young people in science and math!

Program Fees:  There are no program fees or costs to attend the class. The program includes lunch and supplies. Transportation, housing, and other costs are at the individual's expense. The New Orleans Materials Camp does not provide housing.

Credit:  2 graduate credits available for an additional cost of about $200.

Schedule:  This is a full day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) 5-day long workshop.  Some field trips are being planned and may last longer.

Faculty:  Primary faculty are two experienced high school “Master Teachers” who have taught materials science courses for many years and helped develop this innovative approach to hands-on learning of applied science principles.
