CP Specialist Certification
DESCRIPTION
This certification is geared toward those persons involved in the design, installation, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems. Prior to taking the exam or the NACE training course, students must have completed college or university-level courses in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and must have significant amounts of practical experience in cathodic protection.
REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE CERTIFICATION
To achieve this certification, qualified individuals have two options:
CLASSROOM TRAINING - CP4 - Cathodic Protection Specialist
or
EXAM ONLY OPTION - CP 4-Cathodic Protection Specialist Exam Only
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
It is strongly recommended that Exam Only candidates submit a completed application for certification at least 60 days in advance so that work experience requirements and education prerequisites can be verified.
Application approval by the Application Review Board is required for certification.

RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Every three (3) years. Recertification requires a minimum of 1.5 years work experience in cathodic protection and 20 hours per year (60 hrs total) of professional development hours.
