Shipboard Corrosion Assessment Training (S-CAT)

5-Day Course

1st - 5th days 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted)  

Description
This course is intended to provide a foundation of coatings, corrosion, and corrosion control knowledge for assessing the condition of tanks and other structures, and determining the required actions necessary to effectively maintain fully operational status. The course will equip the assessor with practical guidelines for surveying and evaluating the condition of the protective coating system on specific areas of a marine vessel. The desired end result is that assessors utilize a consistent, orderly, and repeatable process of evaluation that has the confidence of all those involved in the maintenance cycle.

Prerequisites
It is recommended that attendees possess a High School diploma (or GED) and have a minimum of three months experience in the evaluation of corrosion or coatings breakdown on marine vessels.
