- Why is the membership number on my card different?
Your membership number may have changed as a result of an upgrade to the NACE International system, in order to better serve the growing needs of its members. To ensure a smooth transition, new membership numbers were assigned that allow for greater usability on the NACE Web site. Your legacy number (prior membership number) and all of your history is still linked to your account. - What if I don't have my member number?
Please contact NACE FirstService in the U.S. and Canada, toll-free at 1-800-797-6223, or worldwide at +1 281-228-6200.
- Can I get it online?
Yes, if you know your security answer, you may access your member number online by clicking on the Log In button at the top of the page. From your Personal Profile page, click on the tabs across the top to access/edit your profile information.
- Can I update my mailing address and contact information online?
Yes, once you are logged in click on Edit Profile in the black header bar just below your name. From your Personal Profile page, click on the tabs across the top to access/edit your profile information
- When will I have access to the website?
When joining online or by phone: Immediately.
When joining by fax: As soon as the membership application and fee are received and processed by FirstService. This usually requires 24-28 hours.
When joining by mail: As soon as the membership is received and processed by FirstService. This is usually 4-6 weeks, depending on the postal service.
- Once I have received my new NACE membership number, how do I login to the "Member's Only" area of the Web site?
Visit the NACE Web site and click on the Log In link at the top of the home page. The Web site will prompt you to create a user name and password if this is the first time you have been to the NACE Web site.
- What if I can't remember my password to access the Member's Only area of the NACE Web site?
Visit the NACE Web site and click on the Log In link at the top of the home page. The "Forgot your username/password" link will prompt you for some additional information in order to search for your login information.
- What do I do if I can't log into the Member Only pages?

- Where do I get information about posting and searching for corrosion and/or coatings related jobs?
The NACE International Career Center is the official employment resource for corrosion/coatings industry professionals, and can be accessed by visiting careers.nace.org.
- When does my membership expire?
Twelve (12) months from the beginning of the month in which your membership was processed. For example, if your membership was processed August 18, 2009, then your expiration date would be August 1, 2010.
- If I join in the middle of the month, why does my membership card reflect that it will expire in 11 months?
No matter what day during the month that you join or renew your membership will always expire during the month you joined-a year or two years later- depending on your membership election.
- When will I begin to receive Materials Performance (MP) magazine?
If your membership is processed prior to the 15th of the month, you will begin receiving MP the following month. If your membership is processed after the 15th, it will take an additional month.
- Will the NACE section in my area contact me directly now that I have become a member of NACE? Where can I find information on my local section?
With more than 125 sections and areas throughout the world, it would be hard for NACE sections to contact all new members directly. But, you can get contact details and other information on meetings dates, etc. by visiting the NACE Sections Web page, or by contacting First Service. When you joined NACE, you were assigned to the section closest to you, unless there has not been one established. Your membership card will reflect the area and section in which you have been assigned.
- What is the difference between a Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Nickel Corporate membership?

- What are the benefits of keeping my membership current?
Please visit the NACE Individual Membership Web page for a list of benefits and services offered to NACE members. Note that members who maintain continuous membership are available for discounted enrollment benefits after age 65.
- What are the qualifications and benefits for Senior and Life members?
To qualify for Senior Membership in NACE International, you must be a member in good standing, who is at least 65 years of age, and have been a member for at least 15 years. A Senior membership entitles you to all of the benefits of an individual membership, at half the cost ($65).
To qualify for Life Membership in NACE International, you must be a member in good standing, who is at least 65 years of age, and have been a member for at least 35 years. Life members receive all of the benefits of an individual membership, with no annual dues.
- If I provide my email address, will my information be sold to an outside mailing list without my consent?
Personal information is only collected to maintain member contact and process product orders and conference/class registrations. This information will not be sold to any outside organization. It may be used to contact you at a later date with promotional information concerning (but not limited to) courses, conferences, new products, and other activities related to NACE International. You may choose to opt out at anytime, by contacting NACE First Service. You may also set your communication preferences in your NACE Profile.
- How do I login to view electronic books and databases through K-NACE?
You must first login to the NACE Web site with your member number and password. Click on the "Log In" button at the top of the web page.
You should then visit the link http://www.nace.org/content.cfm?parentid=1011¤tID=1346 and either login, if you've been there before, or register to get started as a new user.
If you are a first time user of Knovel's K-NACE program, you will need to click on the link to register. You will then be instructed to fill out a registration form to use the Knovel Web site and its products. You will be asked to create a unique user name and password different from your NACE login information.
If you have used the Knovel Web site before, then you will just need to click the link to login— or your computer would have stored a cookie that would automatically remember who you are and log you in automatically.
- When referring to NACE under Codes, Standards and Regulations in specifications, how should NACE be referred to—as the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, or as NACE International?
Our official name, and the name that should be used on any and all documentation, is NACE International. The NACE International style guide for standards has used this official name since 1993. In other government regulations recognizing NACE inspection programs the name is also referred to as NACE International not National Association of Corrosion Engineers.
