It all started with a simple question: Is there one place we can go to find jobs at protective coatings companies? This is what 10 students from the Paint and Coatings Technology program at Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades asked their teacher, Lucas Clark, during a class last fall. At the time they had no idea that their simple question would lead to a rare learning opportunity and job offers for each of them.
The NACE International Institute announces the formation of CORROSION PAC, the nation’s only political action committee dedicated to informing legislators about the critical role corrosion control plays in reducing the economic and environmental impact of corrosion in the U.S., and ensuring that corrosion control planning and qualified personnel are utilized to reduce the cost of corrosion.

Officials from the DoD Corrosion Policy and Oversight Office and the German, French, and U.K. ministries of defense are comparing best practices in combatting material degradation on weapon systems and facilities during a four-day workshop (April 23-26), at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany.

When a Houston-based company purchased a refinery in Nixon about six years ago, it had been mothballed for years — and it showed. Rust streaked the plant's storage tanks and piping.But after refurbishing, the 15,000-barrel-a-day refinery began to process crude oil about a year ago, with every drop coming from the Eagle Ford Shale.
