CP-2 Marine, the newest specialty course for the Cathodic Protection (CP) Program, will launch at Mega Rust 2007. Developed for NAVSEA, the course covers intermediate level discussions of corrosion theory and CP concepts including those specific to ships, types of CP systems, AC and DC stray current interference, and advanced field measurement techniques specific to ships.

Mega Rust 2007 Marine Coatings and Corrosion Conference will take place in San Diego, CA from June 3-8, 2007. This annual event hosted by the U.S. Navy combines six annual conferences and meetings:

• National Shipbuilding Research Programs SP-3 Meeting
• NAVSEA Submarine Preservation Conference

• U.S.C.G. Coatings & Corrosion Control Tiger Team Meeting

Mega Rust brings together government, military, owners, operators, shipyards, research facilities, and coatings manufacturers and suppliers to discuss issues pertinent to the preservation industry.

NACE International is pleased to offer four training courses at Mega Rust 2007: Basic Corrosion, CP 1-Cathodic Protection Tester, Shipboard Corrosion Assessment Training (S-CAT), and the new CP2-Marine Cathodic Protection Technician course.

Participants who enroll in a NACE course at Mega Rust will receive free registration to the conference, which includes admittance to the keynote luncheon on Tuesday, opening reception on Tuesday evening, off-site event onboard the USS Midway on Wednesday, and lunch on Thursday.
