Description
This certification is geared towards very experienced corrosion control personnel, with broad and extensive expertise, in both the theory and practice of multiple areas of corrosion and corrosion control, and capable of performing work at a very advanced level.

An application must be submitted prior to the exam to allow time for NACE to verify work experience requirements and prerequisites.


Examination Only Option
This 8-hour examination consists of four sections; each allotted two hours for completion. Each section is composed of problem solving questions each worth multiple points, and "fact" questions worth one point each. The total consists of the sum of the scores from each section. There is no minimum score for each section. The content is made up of questions on the following subject areas, in roughly equal proportions: Cathodic Protection, Protective Coatings and Linings, Materials Selection and Design, Inhibitors/Environmental Treatment, Corrosion Causes and Mechanisms, and General Corrosion Topics.

Recertification
Every three (3) years.
Recertification requires a minimum of 1.5 years corrosion work experience and 20 hours per year (60 hours total) of professional development hours.
