The Public Affairs Committee in NACE encompasses government relations, public relations, and advocacy issues.

Current work in Public Affairs is focused on:

• Serving as a primary resource for the Dept. of Defense for information and training on corrosion
• Liaising with industry and regulators to keep NACE members informed of pipeline regulations, particularly in relation to pipeline integrity; developing informative technical programs for seminars on pipeline integrity
• Working with Congress on a corrosion tax initiative that will provide incentives for companies, possibly in the form of a tax credit, to maximize the use of corrosion technologies in both maintenance and new construction
