These industry credentials are typically awarded through an application process following successful completion of:

• required courses and corresponding exams
• specified education level
• specified work experience

Candidates may, in some cases, substitute successful exam results for coursework.

Candidates have five years to apply completed coursework to a certification.

Certifications, which NACE documents on individual cards, must be renewed every three years to remain active.
